Welcome

Therapist

My name is Josephine Peacock. I am a trained, experienced, and qualified Counsellor, who will listen with empathy (by putting myself in your shoes).  I can help you deal with negative thoughts and feelings you have about yourself. The psychological therapy I use is Humanistic, Person-Centred, which is client-led. I bring warmth and insight to my therapeutic work, which enables me to engage with clients and work productively to help them reach their goals.  I can help you gain self-awareness to lead a more satisfying and fulfilling life. You can express yourself in a safe environment without fearing being judged.

My work and professional practice are enhanced by monthly clinical supervision, and I adhere to the Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions of my professional body, BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy), of which I am a registered member, holding the Certificate of Proficiency.  I have a Masters' Degree from Goldsmiths University, London,  ‘Understanding Domestic Violence, and Sexual Abuse’, and previously worked as a Counsellor and Trustee at Women’s Aid. I have a DBS-enhanced certificate issued in July 2020.

I specialise in working with people who are experiencing or have experienced domestic violence, sexual abuse, and coercive control. I am there to support you and respect your views.  I am here to help you find insight into and understand your problems.
