My name is Josephine Peacock. I am a trained, experienced and qualified Counsellor, who will listen with empathy (by putting myself in your shoes). I can help you deal with negative thoughts and feelings you have about yourself. The psychological therapy I use is Humanistic, Person Centred which is client led. I bring warmth and insight to my therapeutic work, which enables my to engage with clients and work productively to help them reach their goals. I can help you gain self-awareness to lead a more satisfying and fulfilling life. You will be able to express yourself in a safe environment without the fear of being judged.
My work and professional practice is enhanced by monthly clinical supervision and I adhere to the Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions of my professional body BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) of which I am a registered member, holding the Certificate of Proficiency. I have a Master’s Degree from Goldsmiths University, London ‘Understanding Domestic Violence and Sexual Abuse’ and previously worked as a Counsellor and Trustee at Women’s Aid. I have a DBS enhanced certificate issued in July 2020.
I specialise in working with people who are experiencing or have experienced domestic violence, sexual abuse, coercive control. I am there to support you and respect your views. I am not here to give you advice, but help you find your insights into and understandings of your problems.
